6. 8/26Battle of Ōkōchi Castle

   Oda Nobunaga attacked Kitabatake Tomonori, provincial governor of Ise, at Ōkōchi Castle. After surrounding it with multiple palisades and besieging it for roughly fifty days, a settlement was reached whereby Nobunaga's third son became the adopted heir of Kitabatake Tomonori, effectively bringing the Kitabatake clan under Nobunaga's control.

   In his third campaign against Nagashima, Oda Nobunaga surrounded the uprising by land and sea and suppressed the Ikkō-ikki centered on Ganshōji.

14. Month 3Oda Nobukatsu Executes Three Senior Retainers

    Oda Nobukatsu put three of his own senior retainers to death on the charge that they had been in contact with Hashiba Hideyoshi. The killings amounted to a declaration of war on Hideyoshi, and Nobukatsu joined with Tokugawa Ieyasu.

    Oda Nobukatsu and Hashiba Hideyoshi made a separate peace while confronting one another near Nagashima. Tokugawa Ieyasu then withdrew, ending the Komaki-Nagakute campaign.

    Honda Tadakatsu Transferred to Kuwana, Ise

    Transferred from Ōtaki to Kuwana in Ise Province with 100,000 koku, Tadakatsu became the first daimyo of Kuwana. He oversaw development of the castle town through Keichō-era urban planning and established Kuwana's foundation.

    Month 10Tōdō Takatora Transferred to Ise and Iga

    By order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Takatori was transferred from Iyo Imabari to Ise and Iga provinces, commanding a combined total of over 220,000 koku. He entered Iga Ueno Castle in September and Tsu in October.

31. 1610

    Honda Tadakatsu Dies

    Honda Tadakatsu, daimyo of Kuwana, died and was buried at Jōdo-ji, where Honda Tadakatsu Honbyō (Main Mausoleum) was established. This occurred approximately nine years after he became daimyo.
