1546: Battle of Kawagoe—Hōjō Ujiyasu Defeats the Allied Army

Hōjō Ujiyasu's relief force defeated the allied Uesugi and Koga Ashikaga army besieging Kawagoe Castle. Ōgigayatsu Uesugi Tomosada was killed, greatly advancing Hōjō power in the Kantō. Traditionally called the Night Battle of Kawagoe, Kawagoe City notes that recent study questions whether it was actually fought at night.
