    Ōuchi Yoshitaka's invasion of Izumo

    With his victory at Kōriyama Castle, Ōuchi Yoshitaka led a massive force into Izumo and besieged Gassan Toda Castle, the stronghold of the Amago clan.

    Ōuchi Yoshitaka's withdrawal and death of Ōuchi Harumochi

    The Ōuchi forces, which had been besieging Gassantoda Castle since Tenbun 11, failed to capture it and withdrew in Tenbun 12 due to Amago Haruhisa's counterattack and defections of local lords. During the withdrawal, Ōuchi Harumochi, Yoshitaka's adopted son and favored heir, died.

    Gassan-Toda Castle Opens

    The Mōri army cornered the Amago clan's headquarters at Gassan-Toda Castle with a prolonged siege, and Amago Yoshihisa surrendered, causing the castle to open. The Mōri clan brought Izumo and Hōki under their control.

    SummerKatsuhisa Amago's counter-offensive

    The Amago restoration army, led by the returned-to-lay-life Amago Katsuhisa with Yamanaka Yukimori, briefly seized much of Izumo, but was heavily defeated at Mt. Fube by the returning main Mori force under Mori Terumoto, Kikkawa Motoharu and Kobayakawa Takakage, and its strength was greatly reduced.
