Ryūzōji Takanobu

龍造寺隆信

Head of the Ryūzōji clan of Hizen. In 1558 (Eiroku 1), he launched a preemptive strike against Eshima Taketane, who had shown signs of aiding Shōni Fuyuhisa, and positioned Oda Masamitsu, lord of Hasshoji Castle under his authority, in the vanguard at the Battle of Karamuta Nawate in Kanzaki District. However, Masamitsu fell in battle without receiving reinforcements. Takanobu then rapidly attacked and captured Hasshoji Castle, expanding the Ryūzōji clan's control in eastern Hizen. Masamitsu's son Oda Shigeyoshi recovered his former territories the following year (1559) and subsequently served the Ryūzōji clan.
