A site said to be where Akechi Mitsuhide's body was buried. In 1970, local resident Yamamoto Yoichirō erected a marker inscribed 'Akechi Mitsuhide's Mound,' with the date 'Thirteenth day, Sixth month, Tenth year of Tenshō' carved upon it.
Kyoto city records note with reservations that Mitsuhide 'was said to have' been attacked by local villagers in Ogurusu and died by his own hand in the Akechi-yabu bamboo grove; they also include multiple accounts regarding the fate of his head.
