Head of the Saitō clan of Mino
斎藤義龍
birth year unknown – 1561
Eldest son of Saitō Dōsan. Conflict arose when his father favored his younger brothers, leading Yoshitatsu to kill them in 1555 (Tenbun 24), cementing his break with Dōsan. In 1556 (Hōji 2), he departed from Inabayama Castle and defeated Dōsan's forces at the Nagaragawa River, killing his father to become lord of Mino. Oda Nobunaga, Dōsan's son-in-law, moved to support Dōsan but arrived too late, and subsequent conflicts between the Oda and Mino forces ensued. Yoshitatsu remained lord of Mino until his sudden death in 1561.
